For the hardware’s requirement, it requires several multiprocessor computer with the RAID disk and adequate memory volume, and a large amount of servers to support the data transmission. As a normal guy, compared to a traditional way like blind shopping, an outstanding database system can save a majority of time and energy to acquire the necessary information through screening these unnecessary properties like color, material and producing area. In addition, the newest technology, cloud computing, is dramatically developed and able to make people have their own database and it has been the trend to store massive amount of information.

Home networking could be a new network system that refers to the telecommunication system to control and manage home. The most common case is allowing others to access your Wi-Fi. Facing to these increasingly renewable techniques, it is no doubt that people would like to accept new technology if it can facilitate their life. In the meantime, something negative occurred due to the inducement that could provide a mass of benefits; people, are living in an era of information leakage. As Angie’s post mentioned, public’s personal information including birth date, salary and home address, was sold to other companies which may utilize them to obtain more profits. Hence this situation should definitely be avoided and prevented through strengthen the threshold of the information management. In addition, the network and database have changed the previous solid life and people are used mastering some useful information on the internet before making their choices. Let’s come back to the intelligent buildings, the functions of network and data applied on buildings also have been accepted in most areas and changed the behavior we were always doing before. For instance, mobile devices are used to control the gate and to communicate with the front door and the board members of the building.

Future

The technology like BMS and advanced database would lead the development of society. The storage capacity of data would be improved and cloud computing would be new media for collecting information. For future’s buildings, the management of security, fire control, water supply would indeed realize the unmanned administration, which will greatly save labor power and offer more secure environment under 24 hours’ monitoring. For the leakage of personal information, I think that these internet company should take more strict measures and more solid technique support to prevent the damage of client from internal or external networks.

You held several excellent cases to explain the severe situation that was what I really care about. Especially, the hacker event of Sony Picture happened recently make I feel the prevention measures and the punishment to hacker is still not adequate.

I am really interested on the 3D-printer technology. I believe 3D-printer has become the most prevalent staff and still has a long way to go. The material usage is still the limitation factors for the next improvement. We are happy to see one day we can print food and everything in the near future.
