Week 5 – Alex dePinhoNunes Project Plan

For the final project, Giovana, Pangyan and I, are planning to search the similarities and differences of  “intelligent” and “green” buildings. We chose this topic  because green buildings have been a very known topic nowadays on the construct field, and explore this two kind of construction would be a good chance to learn more about green and intelligent buildings. In a first research about the theme, I could be able to see that Green buildings usually are related to make the building being more conscious about the environmental problems, while, intelligent building focus more on making existing components more useful. During the research I could be able to see that “Green” buildings are a way more popular then intelligent buildings, although they share  similarities and differences.

Since it is a vast field of research the group will pursue to focus in find the following information:

1-  Intelligent buildings and green buildings. similarities and differences

2-  energy-efficient buildings

3-  future energy systems

4-  other related topics.

Comments:

Taylor Castonguay: The 3D print is definitely a good topic for research, recently this type of technology is growing fast, and surely will be at some point used in the construction field. I hope to see the outcome of the work and the direction that will be taken.

Schwakoff:  very well planned outline, a good topic for research. By your outline we can see that you're covering topics that are really interesting and necessary for your research on Automatic Fault Detection and Diagnosis (AFDD) of HVAC systems.

Lee: You chose an interesting aspect to work on, explore the features that the program offers for sure will help you improve your techniques in Revit. a good choice, I hope we can get a good income from your learning and research.
