Week 2 Blog Post - Group E

Technologies that may not be the future as we expect.

I was reading the article in the website of the professor James about Virtual Reality and the Way that it fails to Success, and now I can see a similarity between this and many of the technologies that are considered the future. These new technologies may fail as well.

When the first virtual reality glasses was created in 1980, everyone thought that from then on, many devices could be replaced by this new technology, and it's not what we see nowadays. there's a lot of factors that even the companies which produce those devices dos not recommend to use for a long period, it may cause convulsions, loss of consciousness, eyestrain, trembling eyes, involuntary movements, altered vision, etc. It was considered a great evolution and now we dot have too many researches in this field, and it may happen with technologies that we think it may be totally useful in the future. A good example of that are the drones. The drones are the most known technology nowadays, everyone expects that in the future we will take orders by drones, not by the mailman. people think the drones will be a great help in construction fields, but as happened with the virtual glasses it may be a deception. there's too much risks in use this technologies. In delivery operations it may be intercepted for anyone else, it may have technical issues that can put in risk important deliveries, and for the construction it may cause accidents in any kind of mechanics failure.

Recently bought by Facebook for 2 billion, Oculus, the virtual-reality company has made some progress in this field. If this progress does not continue with the drone technology, this future that we expect may be impossible, and this technology may be an another technology that had everything to be good and become a failure.

Hey Alex, I really like how you used some of the statistics which means that you did a very good search of the topics and you read the article very efficient so that you get a lot of useful informations. However, I think it would be better if you could divide the your post into four topics as the requirements of post and you may also make the connections with those topics and the intelligent buildings. Good jobs!

  2. I liked your text, some technologies are useful for an amount of time, but then people realize that is not working like planned. Sometimes, a product is developed, but technology advances too fast, which makes it outdated.
